Sicily’s history
dates back to the ancient Greek civilisation. Agrigento, Selinunte, Segesta
and Siracusa, were among the most beautiful of the Hellenic world. A sunny island
whose landscape is rich in contrasts, with a splendid coastline
and a refined, delicious and varied cuisine - Sicily is a book of history and art history. Every style, every movement in art is richly represented in cities
like Palermo, Catania, Caltanissetta, Enna, Siracusa, Ragusa, Trapani,
Agrigento, and Messina.

Calatrasi Wine Cellar & Cooking Class

 |
Situated in the Valley of the Jato, approx 20 kms from Palermo, the Calatrasi
Osteria is the perfect place to taste not only Sicilian cuisine but also Sicilian
wines. In fact it is a wine cellar and produces very famous wines.
You will be met in Palermo, at Ballaro’s bustling market where you will buy
the ingredients to create all the dishes. Then we will continue to the wine
cellar and have the cooking lesson. Lunch is based around the dishes you
cook cooked. In the afternoon you will visit the cellar and taste some of the
most typical wines. This is a full day - approx 7 hours.
