Tuscany has always been a magic place for people all around the world.
To experience this landscape with its immense cultural heritage by bicycle
is an unforgettable experience. A typical Tuscan landscape offers an
ambience where you can enjoy seclusion. To discover Tuscany by bicycle is
to cycle through regions that lie way off the tourists’ paths.
Tuscany has a dreamlike but also hilly landscape. During all tours, whether
guided or individual, our accompanying mini bus is always within your reach
ready to take you along for a while if you wish. We cycle on lovely side paths and
country lanes from one famous city to another. You sometimes have to cope
with heavy traffic on entering or leaving a city.
Day 1 Montecatini TermeBy car or train to Florence and on to Montecatini Terme, tour information and handing over of the bikes.
Day 2 Montecatini Terme, Vinci, Montecatini Terme
By bicycle on small paths through olive groves of Montecatini Terme to Vinci (55 kms), birth place of Leonardo, and back again to Montecatini Terme.
Day 3 Montecatini Terme, Pisa
By bicycle (alternative by train) to Lucca, city tour by bicycle, and to the lake of Massacciuccoli (also known as Lake of Giacomo Puccini) and on to Pisa (approx. 50 - 70 kms), where group tours participate at a city tour (“Piazza dei Miracoli”, Schiefer Turm – aslant tower).
Day 4 Pisa, Casciana Terme
From Pisa you cycle along the river Arno and then on lonesome paths to the idyllic spring town Casciana Terme (approx. 40 kms).
Day 5 Casciana Terme, San Gimignano
Today you cycle through vineyards and soft hills to San Gimignano (approx. 55 kms). Every noble family owned here in former times his own tower – these towers of the houses now coin the place.
Day 6 San Gimignano, Siena
Today’s bike tour goes through Tuscany’s wonderful landscape to the architectural paradise of Siena (approx. 45 kms). A city tour of Siena is planned in the evening (group tour).
Day 7 Siena, Florence
Through the hilly Chianti-region, where the “Chianti Classico” comes from you go to Greve. Afterwards you go by bus transfer to Florence. Approx. 50 kms.
Day 8 Florence
Group tour: City tour through Florence, the main city of Tuscany with it´s surname “la bella”, the beautiful in the morning. Afterwards individual departure or extension of your stay. |
