A tour suitable for the gourmet traveller. This independent package allows
you to experience the historic sites and culinary delight of Emiglia
Romagna and Umbria. Taste your way through Parma sampling the
famous parmigiano cheese, Prosciutto di Parma and Modena for it’s fine
balsamic vinegar. On your way to Perugia, a visit to the Nestle chocolate
factory sampling some local chocolate. Finally for all you cars lovers, a
stop to visit the famous Ferrari Museum.
Day 1 - Parma
Independent arrival to the Starhotel du Parc 4*, centrally located. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2 - Parma
After a buffet breakfast at the hotel, set out on a half-day visit of Parma's city centre. Its historic centre contains a wealth of important Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque artistic monuments as well as many noteworthy churches including the Battistero, the Cathedral and Palazzo Ducal del Giardino. Enjoy free time for lunch on your own, then return to the hotel for the rest of the afternoon and evening. (B)
Day 3 - Parma
Tour Parma today, renowned to be the Food Valley Area. You will visit a cheese factory where the famous Parmigiano cheese is made, and assist in the production and taste this of this d.o.p. Italian cheese. Free time for lunch on your own and continue with a visit to the Prosciuttificio factory where you will be in for a treat with Prosciutto di Parma (ham) tasting. Overnight. (B)
Day 4 - Parma, Modena, Parma
Gear up for a trip to Modena, the birthplace of the famous opera tenor Luciano Pavarotti. Also famous for the production of the finest balsamic vinegar. Visit a famous Acetaia to see the production of the vinegar. Lunch (at leisure). Return to your hotel in Parma. Overnight. (B)
Day 5 - Parma, Perugia
After breakfast, transfer to Perugia. En route, you will visit the Ferrari (car) Museum. Perugia is famous for its University, attended by lot of students coming from every corner of the world. It is also a centre of art and culture. At arrival in Perugia you will be transferred to the hotel La Rosetta 4* centrally located for a dinner and overnight. (D)
Day 6 - Perugia
After breakfast visit of the factory of chocolate Perugina/Nestlé near Perugia. You will see the production of the chocolate, visit the museum and taste the typical product of Perugia who welcome the Eurochocolate festival. Lunch on your own. In the afternoon visit of Perugia historic center with its 5 quarters closed-in by its Etruscan town walls. Entering the city via Porta San Pietro, you will reach the basilica of St. Dominic , Piazza del Sopramuro, where is located the 15th century Palace of the Old University. In one of the most important squares, you will see the Priors’ Palace, the Cathedral and the Majour Fountain. Overnight. (B)
Day 7 - PerugiaBuffet breakfast and end of tour.
