Day 1 Friday - Catania, TaorminaIndependent arrival at your hotel. Meeting with the group. Dinner and overnight. Day 2 Saturday - Taormina, Mt Etna, Taormina Breakfast at the hotel, (conditions permitting) excursion to Mount Etna reaching 1800 meters to visit the Sylvester craters. Back to Taormina. Free time for Lunch. Afternoon at leisure or enjoy an optional excursion (to be paid locally). A visit of the Savoca village, the famous catacombs of the Cappuccini convent and Bar Vitelli - used in the shooting of the "Godfather" in 1971. Then a scenic drive to Forza D'Agrò. Includes a walking tour through the peaceful streets, churches and cathedrals. Return to Taormina. Dinner and overnight at your hotel. Day 3 Sunday - Taormina, Siracusa, Taormina Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to Syracuse for a visit of the archaeological area, including the Greek theatre, the Dyonisios Ear, the Latomie of the Paradise. Continue, visit the Island of Ortigia. Time at leisure for lunch. Back to Taormina. Dinner and overnight at hotel. Day 4 Monday - Taormina, Piazza Armerina, Agrigento, Palermo Breakfast at the hotel and then depart to Piazza Armerina to visit the Roman villa del Casale famous for its well preserved mosaics. Continue to Agrigento. Lunch at leisure. Visit the Valley of the Temples, known for its well preserved Greek Temples. Continue to Palermo. Dinner and overnight at hotel. Day 5 Tuesday - Palermo, Monreale, (Erice), Palermo Buffet at the hotel. In the morning visit the town of Palermo including the Palatine Chapel, the Cathedral of Palermo. Continue to Monreale to visit the Cathedral and its Cloister. Lunch at leisure. Afternoon free. An optional excursion (to be paid locally) to Erice, medieval village of Erice, viewing the city of Trapani. Day 6 Wednesday - Palermo, Segesta, Marsala, Palermo After breakfast depart to Segesta to visit the Doric Temple, situated on a hill top town surrounded by beautiful landscapes. Continue to Trapani to view the salt windmills and then to Marsala. Wine tasting followed by free time for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the small city of Marsala and back to Palermo. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 7 Thursday - Palermo, Cefalù, Castelbuono, Palermo Buffet breakfast at the hotel and depart to Cefalù, placed on the Northern coast and where we will visit the famous Cathedral. Lunch at leisure. Continue to Castelbuono, a beautiful village on the Madonie mountains. Return to Palermo. Farewell Dinner and overnight at the hotel. Day 8 Friday - Palermo After buffet breakfast, end of tour.
