A tour that explores Eastern Sicly, but also includes a visit to Agrigento
and Valley of the Temples. Enjoy the craters of Mt Etna, the wonders of
the Roman Casale di Piazza Armerina. Hotels are based in Palermo and
Catania.
Day 1 Friday: Catania, TaorminaArrival Transfer from Catania Airport to Taormina. Meet with the group. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2 Saturday: Taormina, Mt Etna, Taormina
 Breakfast at the hotel, (conditions permitting) excursion to Mount Etna reaching 1800 meters to visit the Sylvester craters. Back to Taormina. Free time for lunch. Afternoon at leisure or enjoy an optional excursion (to be paid locally) visiting the village of Savoca, the famous catacombs of the Cappuccini convent and Bar Vitelli - used in the shooting of the "Godfather" in 1971. Then a scenic drive to Forza D'Agrò. Includes a walking tour through the peaceful streets, churches and cathedrals. Return to Taormina. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 3 Sunday: Taormina, Siracusa, Taormina
Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to Syracuse for a visit of the archaeological area, including the Greek theatre, the Dyonisios Ear, the Latomie of the Paradise. Continue to the Island of Ortigia. Time at leisure for lunch. Back to Taormina. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 4 Monday: Taormina, Piazza Armerina, Agrigento, Palermo
After breakfast depart to Piazza Armerina to visit the Roman villa del Casale famous for its well preserved mosaics. Continue to Agrigento. Lunch at leisure. Visit the Valley of the Temples, known for its Greek Temples. Continue to Palermo. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 5 Tuesday: Palermo
Breakfast at your hotel. End of the tour.
