A tour taking in most of the important cities in the South. Depart from
your hotel to explore the main attractions throughout Sicily. Continue
into Calabria and into Campania. This tour will end in Rome. You also
have the option of departing from Rome and ending in Palermo.
Day 1 Monday: PalermoIndependent arrival at your hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 2 Tuesday: Palermo, Monreale, Agrigento
Buffet breakfast. In the morning visit Palermo, visits include the Cathedral as well as the Palatine Chapel in the
Royal Palace. Continue on to Monreale, visit the Cathedral and the Cloister. Lunch on your own. In the
afternoon depart for Agrigento. Visit the Valley of the Temples, known for its well preserved Greek Temples. Dinner and overnight at your
hotel.
Day 3 Wednesday: Agrigento, Piazza Armerina, Siracusa
Buffet breakfast at your hotel. Depart to Piazza Armerina to visit the Roman Villa del Casale, famous for its more than 3500 sq metres of mosaics. Continue to Siracusa. Time at lesiure for lunch. In the afternoon visit the archaoelogical area including the Greek theater as well as Ortigia, the historical barroque center of the city. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.
Day 4 Thursday: Siracusa, Etna, Taormina, Reggio Calabria
After breakfast, conditions permitting, excursion on Mount Etna the highest active volcano in Europe. We will reach 1800 metres to visit the Silvestri Craters. Continue to Taormina and visit the Greek Theatre on your own as well as enjoy some free time to shop or go around the elegant streets of the city. Depart for Reggio Calabria. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 5 Friday: Reggio Calabria, Paestum, Naples
After buffet breakfast we will enjoy a visit to the Archaeological Museum, famous for the Bronzi di Riace (Bronze Statues). Time at leisure for lunch. Depart for Paestum. An independent visit of the archaeological area. Continue to Naples. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 6 Saturday: Naples, Pompeii, Amalfi Coast, Naples
Breakfast at hotel and depart for Pompeii where we will visit the ruins of this famous city completely destroyed by the Vesuvio eruption in 79 BC. Continue along the well know Amalfi coast road visiting Amalfi and Positano along the way. Free time for lunch. Back to Naples. Dinner and overnight at hotel.
Day 7 Sunday: Naples, Capri, Rome
Breakfast at hotel and transfer to Naples’ port to embark on the ferry which will bring you to beautiful Capri. The island has been the
residence of many Roman Emperors and it surprises all the travellers, many thanks to the landscapes as well as it’s grottos and Faraglioni.
Free time for lunch.
Return to Naples via hydrofoil. Then continue on to Rome via a bus. The tour will end at a specific point in Rome.
